The southeastern corner of Twofold Bay contains a 1 km wide northeast-facing East Boyd Bay, which contains the longer Fisheries Beach, together with four small beaches along its rocky eastern boundary (NSW 699-703). Fisheries Beach (NSW 699) is a curing 750 m long low sandy beach that faces northeast 4 km across Twofold Bay to Eden. The beach in located in a small valley and blocks the mouth of Fisheries Creek, which flows out towards its eastern end (Fig. 4.433). The river and waves have deposited a low 400 m wide barrier, called Fisheries Flat between the creek and the western rocks. A vehicle track off the East Boyd road leads to the flats where there are a number of holiday shacks on the creek and beach. The beach usually receives very low refracted waves which surge across the low gradient beach and narrow bar. Higher wave generates a heavier shorebreak.
Beach Length: 0.5km
