Middle Beach consists of two parts. The northern section (NSW 651) trends to the south-southwest for 900 m from the 50 m high northern boundary rocks to the usually blocked lagoon entrance, with the southern part (NSW 652) continuing for another 700 m to the sightly protruding bluff and rocks that separate it from Gillards. The 30 ha Middle Lagoon backs both beaches and when open flows between the two. Both beaches receive waves averaging 1.5 m and usually have an attached bar cut by several beach rips, with a permanent rip against the northern rocks. When the inlet is open the entrance channel and shoals are also present.
Beach Length: 0.6km
