Wallagoot Gap (NSW 663) is located on the northern side of 30 m high Turingal Head. The 50 m long sandy beach lies inside a 20 m wide gap in the steep rocky shore. The beach extends 80 m inland through a second 10 m wide gap to a second 30 m wide section of sand. Most wave energy is expended surging though the outer gap, with usually low wave to calm conditions at the shore. However even during low waves there is a rip returning water seaward through the gap. During high waves, water builds up inside the gap rising and falling dramatically and generating a strong return flow through the gap. If swimming in the Gap stay close to shore and well clear of the outer gap.
Beach Length: 0.02km
