Long Beach occupies part of a 2.5 km wide southeast-facing bat that looks out though the entrance to Batemans Bay. Within the bay are two beaches on the eastern point and Long Beach, which terminates at the western Square Head. Beach NSW 527 is located 100 m around the rocks from Maloneys Beach and trends to the northwest as a sheltered, low energy 380 m long reflective beach fronted by linear reefs extending up to 200 m offshore, with just a few patches of clear sand. It is backed by a low foredune then bluffs. Two hundred metres to the north is beach NSW 528 a similar 250 m low gradient reflective beach, with rock platforms-reefs extending off each end. Both beaches are backed by bluffs rising to 20 m then the houses along Northcote Beach Road. Both beaches can be accessed on foot from Long Beach.
