Durras Beach (NSW 512) continues to curve gently south of the entrance-salient for 2.3 km to a low rocky point. The beach is backed by a continuous foredune backed by the 1 km long lake entrance channel, with the small community of Durras Lake behind the centre of the beach. The foredune continues to the southern rocks where a small creek crosses the beach. Waves average 1-1.5 m and maintain a rip-dominated inner bar, with an outer bar forming during periods of higher waves. When the lake is open the reef and tidal shoals produce additional bars, channels and currents in this area.
Beach Length: 2km
