Richmond Beach (NSW 519) is located 1 km further south at the mouth of a southeast-facing valley, bordered by a 500 m long 20 m high northern headland (Fig. 4.370), with access provided from a car park on the northern slopes. The 380 m long beach is backed by a low foredune and creek, which flows across the northern end, then wind blasted vegetated slope rising to 30 m. It faces the southeast, receiving waves averaging 1.5 m which break over rocks and reefs in the surf zone generating 2-3 topographic rips during higher waves, while lower waves surge amongst the rocks and up the steep beach face. This is an accessible though hazardous beach when waves are breaking.
Beach Length: 0.3km
