Sunshine Bay is a 300 m wide semi-circular bay, located between two round 20 m high headlands, with the beach (NSW 535) curving for 400 m between the two. It is bordered and fronted considerable rock and reef and receives waves averaging about 0.5 m, which surge up a steep sand and cobble beach. The main road runs just behind the beach with a small parking area toward the south end, opposite a caravan park. There is a launching ramp and a few boat sheds in the southern corner.
