The first is Cullendulla Beach (NSW 530), which commences 1 km due north of Square Head. The entrance to Cullendulla Creek forms its western boundary with the tidal channels running along the side of the head and tidal sand shoals also extending 1 km to the south and for 350 m along the 660 m long beach. The beach is composed of fine sand and faces due south across the 2 km wide inner bay. Ocean waves are very low to zero at the beach and maintain a low gradient beach fronted by the sands flats and shallow seafloor to the west. The beach is backed by a 200-300 m wide series of low beach ridges, then the mangroves and inner beach ridges of Cullendulla Nature Reserve. The beach is accessible from the road that terminates at the boundary headland.
