Taradore Point is a low granite rocky point 1 km south of the bar. It forms the northern boundary of 250 m long Plantation Beach (NSW 581), with Boogumgoridge Point, an 80 m long series of granite rocks and boulders forming the southern boundary. The beaches face east-southeast receiving waves averaging 1.5 m, which maintain a strong permanent rip against the northern rocks, and usually a second rip close to the southern point.
