Little Beach (NSW 145) is located 600 m out along the headland from Hat Head beach. It is a narrow 50 m long strip of intertidal sand backed by a high tide boulder beach, then vegetated slopes. The walking track runs above the beach, with a climb down required to reach the shore. It faces north and has usually low wave to calm conditions. A small rock island is located 1 km south of Korogoro Point, and consists of a 100 m long, 20 m high rock outcrop, which is separated from the steep mainland slopes by a 50 m long, 5-10 m wide wave-washed gully, which occasionally fills with sand. Beach NSW 146 consists of three small pockets of sand that occupy three gaps along the northern side of the island, that occasional link to form one 50 m long beach. They are backed and bordered by rocks, with rocks also off the sand. To reach the beach you have to walk down the steep grassy slopes from the main track. When the beach is eroded you have to wade across the 20 m wide gully while when wide the gully fills with sand and you can walk to the island (Fig. 4.76). read more
