Pilot Beach (NSW 179) is located inside the 150 wide entrance to Camden Haven extending for 250 m between the southern and an internal training wall. The beach faces northeast and is backed by a car park and picnic area, then slopes rising 30 m to the Pilot Station lookout. The sheltered beach receives only low wave refracted though the entrance, which averages less than 0.5 m and maintain a steep, narrow reflective beach with the low waves surging up the beach face.
