At Point Plomer the shoreline turns and trends due south-southwest for 14 km to the mouth of the Hastings River at Port Macquarie. Immediately south of the point are two small beaches bounded by the point, a central rocky point and 33 m high Queens Head (Fig. 4.85). The first beach (NSW 157) trends south for 200 m to the 15 m high boundary point, with a rock reef also located off the southern half of the beach. The low gradient beach is backed by well-vegetated dune, while the surf zone is drained by permanent rips to either end. There is a car park behind the southern end with 4WD access to the beach. Beach NSW 158 continues on the south side of the point for 300 m to the base of Queens Head. This beach is also backed by a foredune with a prominent rock also located on the southern end of the beach. The surf zone has permanent rips to either end, which result in hazardous swimming conditions. A car park and picnic area is located behind the southern end of the beach and 4WD access to the beach.
Beach Length: 0.2km
General Hazard Rating: 7/10
