Burrill Lake is a small community located on the northern side of Lake Burrill and to the west of the Princes Highway, 3 km south of Ulladulla. To the east of the highway are Racecourse South and Burrill beaches (NSW 476 & 477) separated in the middle by a small 20 m high headland, which lines up with a rock reef 1 km offshore. The beaches both face the southeast and are exposed to waves averaging 1.5 m. They are backed by a foredune merging into slopes rising to 20 m, with the Princes Highway running 200-300 m inland. The northern beach (NSW 476) is 1.3 km long with 20 m high headlands at each end, and backed by 10-15 m high vegetated dunes, with two small creeks crossing the northern end and centre of the beach. Two caravan parks are located on the slopes between the creeks with several walking tracks cross the dunes providing access to the beach.
