Maslin Beach is a small coastal settlement set on sloping bluffs behind the centre of beach of the same name. There are two large car parks on the bluffs, which provide excellent access to the beach (219). The southern end of the beach, which is backed by bare bluffs rising to 50 m at protruding Blanche Point, is best known because of it option dress code, and is a popular location during much of the year. The northern end of the beach is less utilised and is backed by an abandoned bluff top quarry. The 2.9 km beach faces west and terminates at the northern 50 m high Ochre Point (Fig. 4.50). It receive waves averaging about 1 m, with higher waves producing rips spaced about 100 apart along much of the beach, the rip holes at time persisting for week after.
