The Inman River forms the western boundary of Victor Harbour township, and the narrow and at time closed mouth forms the boundary between Victor Harbour and the river mouth beach, which extends for 600 m south to a low sandy foreland. This low energy beach (161) is fronted by seagrass beds and backed by a wide reserve in the west, with the eastern half a low sandy spit. Behind the spit is a large caravan park.
