To the west of Freeman Knob is a 3.6 km long south facing beach (157) that goes under three different names. The first section is called Boomer Beach, then Watsons Gap around the small creek of the same name, and finally Chiton Rocks after some rocks that outcrop in the surf. This beach is backed by a foreshore reserve, the old railway tracks and then residential development much of it on low bluffs overlooking the beach. There is a large car park above Boomer Beach with stairs down to the beach and car parks either side of the Chiton Rock surf club (Fig. 4.36 & 4.37).
