Tunkalilla Beach (177) is a straight 5 km long beach, backed by a low foredune and wave overwash deposits, and continuous grassy slopes which rise in places to over 200 m. The surf zone average 60 m in width and is cut by beach rips every 250 m in the west, with several reef controlled rips to the east. This is the only publicly accessible beach, with a car park located on the bluffs above the western end of the beach.
