Long Beach (T 455) is a narrow, ~150 m long, east-facing beach occupying the rear of the 400 m wide Little Sandy Bay embayment, formed between the former sandy foreland of Sandy Bay Point and the rocks of Blinking Billy Point. Once continuous with Nutgrove Beach, it is now separated by a seawall. The beach is backed by a seawall, restaurant, parking and park facilities, with Sandy Bay Road clipping the southern corner. A small, reflective shoreline receives low, refracted swell that frequently surges across the narrow foreshore, particularly on higher tides.
Long Beach Reserve behind the shore functions as a popular family-oriented hub, with abundant grassed areas, nearby playing fields and cafés. Amenities include two undercover barbecue areas (one overlooking Little Sandy Bay and another beside the playground), a bookable sheltered pavilion, and a large fenced, maritimed-themed play space. A bathing pavilion supports swimmers using the sheltered waters of Little Sandy Bay, and the site caters to paddles ports with a kayak/SUP wash-down station. A seasonal pontoon floats in the bay, and the beach is well known as the venue for the annual Winter Solstice nude swim.
