Barrier Landing refers to the jetty 2 km south of the Lakes Entrance mouth. The landing here has a lakeside picnic area and toilets, with a short walk over the foredune to the beach. A few fishing shacks are located on the beach. This beach has the additional hazard of being close to the lake entrance, where tidal shoals produce additional tidal currents. These improve the fishing and surfing, at the expense of bathing.
Beach Length: 6km
