On the southern side of Martha Point is a 100 m pocket of sand and cobbles, lying at the foot of steep, 40 m high, vegetated bluffs. It is fronted by a band of intertidal cobbles and rock, with a sandy bay floor lying beyond the rocks. Marine Drive passes around on the bluffs above the beach, while a walking track from Safety Beach to the point provides the best access. The beach faces south-west and is well exposed to westerly winds. The beach is narrow and steep, with usually low waves at the base of the beach and some surf over the bay floor during strong south-westerlies.
