Cape Hamelin consists of north-south trending ridges of granite and boulders. They rise to 20 m and extend inland where they are blanketed by dunes. Beside beach WA 632 on the southern side of the cape, beaches WA 633 and 634 are located amongst the rocks on the western side of the cape, with Cosy Corner located 1 km to the north. Beach WA 633 is a 50 m long pocket of south-facing sand located at the southwestern extremity of the cape. It is bordered by lines of granite boulders and fronted by submerged boulders, with waves averaging about 0.5 m at the shore.
