The entire section lies within the national park, with the only vehicle access a 4 WD track off the Cosy Corner Road to Cape Hamelin. In the south Hillview Drive terminates at a 140 m high lookout, 2 km inland, that provides views of the coast. The Cape to Cape walking track run the length of Deepdene Beach to the Cape Hamelin.

The beachrock has an inactive higher platform and an active intertidal platform. The beach trends north-northwest for 400 m to a 100 m long patch of calcarenite. Waves averaging over 1 m break over calcarenite reefs at either end with a central 50 m wide bar, drained by a central rip. A mixture of active and vegetated dunes rising to over 100 m back the beach.
