Port Denison harbour beach (WA 1062) occupies the 700 m long southeastern shore of the harbour and faces northwest towards the narrow harbour entrance (Fig. 4.257). Conditions are usually calm apart from low wind waves. Shallow reefs outcrop along the southern corner of the beach, with a boat ramp located in the centre, then the main 150 m long jetty. A second large boat ramp and commercial jetty occupies the northern end of the beach adjacent to the northern breakwater. The entire beach is backed by a foreshore reserve, which provides various recreational facilities including car parks, picnic-barbeque areas and playgrounds, then the shops and houses of Port Denison.
