Beach WA 869 lies adjacent to the southern wall of the boat harbour. It is a 50 m long strip of high tide sand, with large rocks littering the beach and shallow reefs extending 100 m offshore. The large boat harbour car park is located 100 m to the north. Ocean Reef Boat Harbour was constructed in the 1990’s along a section of predominately calcarenite shore. The harbour extends for 500 m along the shore and consists of a 400 m long attached breakwater, with an opening to the north, as well as three northern groynes. The harbour is solely used for boat launching and has five adjacent boat ramps backed by a large car park (Fig. 4.215). In addition a beach has been constructed immediately south of the ramps (WA 870), and two beaches are located between the groynes (WA 871 & 872), with beach WA 873 immediately north of the harbour.
