Beach WA 1743 commences on the northern side of Harbour Mound point and continues northeast for 600 m as a crenulate beach with numerous rock outcrops which dominate the intertidal zone. Housing backs the southern end of the beach, with the Esplanade continuing up to the power station at the northern end. A seawall built to protect the water intake for the power station forms the northern boundary.
