Beach WA 1839 is a low energy 500 m long easterly-facing beach that is backed by the narrow 30 m high ridge of metasedimentary rocks. The beach has prograded 100-200 m into the port, with mangroves fringing either end. A tidal creek parallels the centre of the beach, then 1.5 km wide ridged-sand flats extend into the bay. A vehicle track runs along the bedrock to reach the rear of the beach where a few small fishing shacks are located.
