Lameroo Beach (NT 135) is Darwin’s solitary downtown beach. It is located at the base of 15 m high densely vegetated bluffs toward the centre of the Bicentennial Park (Fig. 5.20). A graded concrete walkway leads down through tropical rain forest to the beach, where the trees overhang much of the straight, low energy, 100 m long, sand and gravel beach. It faces southwest into the harbour, with rocky tidal flats exposed at low tide.
Beach Length: 0.1km
General Hazard Rating: 1/10
