Beach Q 13 is a slightly curving 8.9 km long beach which is part of a series of more than 25 recurved spits that have extended the beach-barrier at least 5 km eastward to the mouth of a small creek. The beach ridge-spits widen from 200 m in the west to 1 km in the east. The system is backed by 0.1-2 km wide salt flats, then a 1-2 km wide inner beach ridge barrier and then 1-4 km wide high tide salt flats. It is bordered by tidal sand flats associated with the creeks and with mud flats between the creeks.
