The Beachport end of the beach is called Surf or Burdon beach (70). The main car park and beach vehicle access point is located 1 km east of the Lake George drain. There is also a memorial tower which provides a better view of the beach and surf. Waves averaging 1 m at the car park and can increase slightly down the beach, with the surf zone widening to 200 m and rips tending to form every 400 to 500 m.
